won the Scottish Junior short course title in January.
Ross and Victoria reached eight finals between them
and along with Ailsa shattered ten long course Club
records. Chris, Morven and Jack can be pleased with

After
the Meet Coach Karen Kelly said “ This was a good
Meet for the Club. As well as the swimmers who won
awards, children like Alyson Henderson and Cameron
Watkins competed in events like a 100m butterfly in a
credited Meet for the first time. Katie McIntyre and
Kimberley Bone had never competed outwith Mini-League
or Club Meets before and both swam well.
“
Meanwhile
the Club’s Victoria Gourlay has been selected to
swim for the third successive year for Scotland West
in the Great Britain Inter Counties Championships at
Sheffield later this month. All at Lanark ASC wish
Victoria well. Next Meet for Lanark is the monthly
Mini-League Meet next Sunday at Larkhall.

THREE
NATIONAL TITLES AND RECORDS FOR JACK
Last
Wednesday Lanark Amateur Swimming Club’s Jack
McComish represented the West Of Scotland at the
Scottish National Junior Championships for Sensory

12-year-old
Jack was in excellent form winning three gold medals
from his three swims. His first race was the 50m
backstroke where his time of 41.29 was not only a
personal best of over 5 seconds but a new National
Record. The young swimmer carried this form into the
50m breaststroke again setting a new personal mark
(42.69) a seven second personal best and another
National Record.
Jack
made it three wins out of three when he comfortably
won the 50m freestyle in 32.05 a new pb to again break
the existing National Record.
Lanark
coach Karen Kelly said, “Jack can be extremely proud
of his achievements. This was his first National Gala
and he took it in his stride posting some excellent
