Twenty-one Lanark ASC competed at the recent Cumbernauld Open held at the town's Tryst Centre.
Euan McComish (10/12) won four golds from his four swims including an excellent 1.02.12 in the 100m freestyle. Callum Rintoul was third to Euan in the 100m breaststroke and Katie McIntyre won both the 50m and 100m breaststroke in the 10/12 year old girl's events. In the 13 year old age group Robyn Patrick won two silver and two bronze medals and Alastair Gourlay a third (13). Alyson Henderson (14) won two silver and a bronze, dipping under the 30 second mark for 50m free for the first time (29.61).
In the 15 years and over events Jack McComish won two events and Ross McCafferty five bronze. Maya Andrew is now the holder of all the women's backstroke records in the Club after taking one hundredth of a second off Victoria Gourlay's previous record of 32.09.
The following day 37 swimmers participated in the Mini-League at Larkhall. First place awards went to Heather Murray, Erin Snow, Anna Britton (2), Finlay Patrick (2), Callum Rintoul and Cameron Bailey. The young swimmers posted 33 personal best times with Caitlyn Hamilton making her debut for the Club.
